This one person sofa on which Steve Job sat at Apple’s new product showcase was the ‘Grand Confort’ designed by Le Corbusier, the architect from Switzerland who was leading the trend of the culture and art of 20th century. This chair is the most comfortable and beautiful chair in consideration of the proportions of the human body and regarded as the best of the best art piece of our time with an extraordinary design. Steve Jobs always sought the best design, accordingly he chose the chair which was designed and materialized by the best architect of the time. He was very picky and strict with the selection of the furniture for his house. The only furniture he put in the living room was the lounge arm chair designed by George Nakashima, a Japanese-American furniture designer. Unfortunately, we don’t have a chance to use it. However, we can see, enjoy and think about Steve Jobs’ chair at this old Cheongju tobacco processing factory at least. At the Special Exhibition ‘Chair-Flow’ of Cheongju International Craft Biennale, we can meet the furniture Steve Jobs cherished during his life which are ‘Grand Confort No. LC-2’ by Le Corbusier and ‘Conoid Bench’ by George Nakashima. If you are inspired by Steve Jobs’ innovative and creative spirit and excited over the famous Apple’s logo, you could find some comfort by watching these chairs.
