Professor In-Beom Lee Appointed as Exhibition Director of Cheongju International Craft Biennale 2009

Sangmyung University's Professor In-Beom Lee has been appointed as the exhibition director of Cheongju International Craft Biennale 2009.

On June 21, seven local fine arts and craft art experts were reviewed for the position of exhibition director, among which Professor In-Beom Lee was chosen. On August 1, he was given a letter of appointment at Cheongju City Hall and had a press conference.

In-Beom Lee, the new exhibition director of Cheongju International Craft Biennale 2009, earned a BA degree in painting and a Ph.D. degree in aesthetics from Hongik University. At present, he is a professor in the Division of Fine Arts at Sangmyung University and a director of the Chiwoo Craft Museum, president of the Korean Society of Art History and vice chairman of the Korean Society of Aesthetics and Science of Art and Korean Curator Forum.

Moreover, he also worked as a curator of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea, a researcher of the Mid & Long-term Development Plan of the Gwangju Biennale, and researcher and member of the planning committee of the Korean National University of Arts. He was also advisor of such institutions as the Ministry of Culture & Tourism, National Museum of Korea, National Museum of Contemporary Arts and Arts Council Korea.
